Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor Visitor Center
Possible Use of the Moen Wire Works Facility
This image is looking to the south west along Rt. 146 in Worcester at the Moen Wire Works building.
The Visitor Center is shown nestled between the Worcester City Middle River Park, the Middle River, the Blackstone River, Quinsigamond Village, the Route 146 Bikeway, and the improved Route 146 at the headwaters of the Blackstone River.
These images were produced for the Greater Worcester Land Trust to demonstrate the potential viability of the Moen Wire Works building as a visitor center by Eastern Division. The falls mark the end of the Middle River and the Mill Brook and the official headwaters of the Blackstone River. The historic nature of the Moen Wire Works building and its proximity to both the physical headwaters of the Blackstone River, Quinsigamond Village, and the Rt. 146 bikeway make a strong case for the use of this structure. For more information please contact the Greater Worcester Land Trust.
