Before the wildlife cut was completed groups of deer had already begun to forage in the new area. It is worth noting that deer were extremely infrequent at this parcel previously. This wildlife enhancement was substantially funded by the Massachusetts Forest Stewardship Program. This effort was undertaken under SIP (Stewardship Incentive Program) number 8, project code 803a (Wildlife Clearing). This effort was coordinated by Roger Plourde of Broad Arrow Forestry. This area will be retained as a low brush habitat to provide mast (food).
