Coes Reservoir is closed to use Tuesday August 5th, so the City can treat the water with a copper sulfate to control aquatic algae growth.
The reservoir will reopen to public use on Wednesday.please share on your social networks.
The City of Worcester Department Works & Parks will apply copper sulfate to Coes Reservoir on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018. We advise all persons to stay out of the water, discontinue boat use and fishing, and keep their pets out of the water on this day. Beaches will be posted prior to the application. It is planned to reopen the Lake the following day.

Copper sulfate is a safe and effective way to control the growth of harmful, toxin-producing algae. The application of copper sulfate is a common practice to maintain a healthy lake and poses minimal risk to humans and animals after application is complete. The application has been approved by the Worcester Conservation Commission.

Vigilence is our watch word.
Good Work to all involved!
Mass DAR, Mass DCR, USDA APHIS, WTI, and the countless folks who have spent their time and looked up over the last decade to keep our forest safe!
